Ice climbing is the climbing of inclined ice formations such as icefalls, frozen water falls and cliffs and rock slabs covered with ice refrozen from flows of water. Originally one of many disciplines involved in alpinism, ice climbing has evolved into a sport in it’s own. Equiped with rigid crampons and lighter, shorter axes climbers could discover the frozen vertical world.
