The pages of this
web site contain a wealth of information to get you started. If you have
any questions feel free to write us an e-mail to office@patagonianguides.com
We'll gladly go over any details concerning our itineraries and information
about our company.
What is Patagonian
Guides?
We are IFMGA mountain guides and tour operators specializing in Patagonia,
the southernmost region of Argentina and Chile. We organize and guide
your own private trips and expeditions for ice
climbing, sport rock climbing,
alpine climbing, mountaineering,
off-piste & freeride,
backcountry skiing and ski
the volcanoes for all ages and expertise levels: from the Fitz Roy
climbing, to a sport climbing initiation; from a volcanoes ski touring
to a off-piste day.
Why are we
different?
If you choose to travel with us you'll get to know Patagonia in a more
intimate way, guided by an all-local team of international certified guides.
Our trips are a lot more than just beautiful landscapes. Our guides know
about the environmental issues facing the land and its inhabitants as
the pressures of industry, tourism and development continue to grow. They
have an intimate understanding of Patagonia because it is where they choose
to live and work.
What's included
in your itineraries?
The best guides in Patagonia, a select group of local skiers, climbers
and mountaineers that have a passion for Patagonia.
All our Itineraries
also include meals, ground transportation and lodging (from comfortable
historic estancias to four-season expedition tents, depending on your
trip).
We do not include
international or domestic airfare, travel, medical or cancellation insurance.
We strongly recommend you purchase insurance from a qualified agent. Visas,
vaccinations and passport fees are not included and are the sole responsibility
of the traveler.
What kind
of weather should I expect?
Although we'll be traveling in the austral summer, Patagonia is famous
for its tempestuous weather. You should expect conditions ranging from
mild, warm days to stormy and windy, even in the same day. Our most technical
trips will expose you to high-mountain weather conditions. Our recommended
gear lists reflect this. You'll find that a good rain jacket and pants
are a must.
How can I
book a trip?
You can start your booking process sending us an e-mail to office@patagonianguides.com
and tell us about your motivations, activities and the most you can tell
us about the wishes of your next trip to Patagonia. We'll contact you
within 24 hours, with an itinerary proposal of your private guided trip.
When you book an expedition,
a 20% of the cost of your trip deposit is required to reserve the date for your trip.
The remaining balance for your trip will be due at your arrival date in
Patagonia.
What are the
terms and conditions of these trips?
Please check our payments, terms and conditions
page.
Can you make
internal flight arrangements?
Our office staff in Argentina can arrange for your internal flights. We
provide this service as a courtesy.
