Frey hut, Cerro Catedral

It´s the place chosen by climbers because of its granite rock quality. At the surrenders of the hut there are many granite spires that counts with the best conditions for climbing.

Season: from December to April.
Level: beginners/advanced. Alpine climbing courses, training for bigger objectives like Fitz Roy Massif. Routes between 15 and 300 meters long.
Duration: programs from 2 to 7 days.
Location: situated in Northern Patagonia, Lake District, 20 km away from the city of San Carlos de Bariloche.
Emilio Frey Hut is situated close to the Frey spire, surrounded by many spires and walls, and at the shore of the Toncek Lake, 1700 meters over sea level.
How to get: 3 to 4 hs trek from the base of Catedral ski center. Vertical drop: 800 mts.

Glacier travel courses

Volcano Tronador is without doubts the best area of northen Patagonia to improve mountaineering skills crevasse rescue and glaciar travel technics. Using the Meiling Hut as base camp (1950 m.o.s.l.) we only need to walk a few minutes to get on the ice of the glaciar. Tronador counts with 3 summits that makes of this beautiful mountain an ideal terrain to develop the techniques of every mountaineer.

Season: from Diciembre to April.
Level: beginners/advanced. Glacier travel tecniques, ice climbing, crevasse rescue and self rescue techniques, training for alpine ascensions.
Duration: from 2 to 9 days programs.
Location: Tronador is situated in Northern Patagonia, lake district, at 90 km from the city of San Carlos de Bariloche.
Meiling Hut, situated at 1950 m.o.s.l is soroundered by the Castaño Overo and Alerce glaciers.
How to get: 4 a 5 hs trek from Pampa Linda (base of Tronador). Vertical drop 1000 meters.
