Grade your skiing level Level 1) Introduction to off piste - You are a confident piste skier, can control speed on black pisted slopes. You like a challenge and are ready for learning new techniques for off piste. You will learn & master techniques on & off the piste on terrain to suit you ability. Level 2) Getting to grips - You are not a novice in the off piste, you can make linked turns in various conditions comfortably but you need to improve technique to become more stylish and confident. You will practise the techniques needed in suitable terrain and venture further into the off piste world. Level 3) Competent technique - you feel confident in most conditions off piste including knee deep powder and widely spaced forests - you're looking to cover high mileage, explore the terrain others don't reach and develop the skills to tackle more challenging terrain. Level 4)
Advanced/Expert level - big days out! Requiring both a high level of off
piste technique and fitness. You will be skiing the most challenging terrain,
couloirs, steeps, speed, and if desired learn how to drop the occasional
cornice or cliff (conditions depending) - these are big days to remember!
